The needs of National Database for Diabetes diseases in the country was present for quite some time, however, mainly because of the luck of funding, the project was postponed. As some pharmaceutical vendors showed interest for partial funding, GORD Systems decided to participate the project as a software developer, partially also as a sponsor. The project integrates the data for the adults and children, and ensures continuation in the patient data update, regardless of the patient age.
Smart Cards (chip cards) can be used for identifying, storing and retrieving most important patient data.
The Database is installed on a central Server which is accessible locally and remotely. Data entry module ensures secure and correct input of the patient data, while many reports and queries enable the users to perform various statistical data analyses.
The Server and several local users are installed on the Institute for Endocrinology (Clinical Centre Skopje), while, additional 35 remote users (diabetes outpatient units from different cities) update the central database remotely.
Based on ORACLE Database/Development tools. Remote clients are based on Oracle Lite database for maintenance of local data, as well as synchronization with the central Database. The System can be used as Internet/Intranet or Client/Server solution.
